COUNSELLOR - SUPERVISOR

Counselling for East Riding and Hull

Counselling is a process where the client is supported to find her/his answers to the problems that they bring to the counselling sessions.

This approach is based on the belief that we all have the capacity to resolve our problems, and that we often have more choices than we may think.

Counselling can give you the opportunity to

Are you concerned about ......?

  • abuse
  • addiction
  • anxiety
  • bereavement
  • depression
  • domestic violence
  • low self esteem
  • panic attacks
  • phobias
  • relationship issues
  • separation or divorce
  • stress
  • sexual issues
  • work related issues

Counselling can help people who want to improve the quality of their lives. People who seek counselling are not weird or peculiar but are just ordinary people who are looking for objective support to get through a difficult time or to make changes that would empower them.

  • address difficult or painful issues in your life
  • identify and overcome symptoms of distress
  • discover your inner strength and resources
  • build self-esteem
  • create options for personal growth/development
  • find ways to achieve positive changes in your life

The first session is always regarded as exploratory, and there is no commitment at this stage for you and the counsellor to work together further. However, many clients find it helpful to attend on this basis initially to ensure that they feel comfortable with the counselling process.
